Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Pyrus Financial Inc., a Delaware corporation, together with its subsidiaries and affiliates, including Pyrus Credit LLC (collectively, "Pyrus," the "Company," "we," "us," or "our"), handles personal information that we collect through our website, application, and any other sites or services that link to this Privacy Policy (collectively, the "Services"). Our Terms of Service are incorporated into this Policy by reference.
If you have started or completed a loan application with us, the personal information we collect in connection with that financial product is governed by the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) and, where applicable, the California Financial Information Privacy Act (CalFIPA), and is handled in accordance with our Consumer Privacy Notice provided to you in connection with your application. This Policy governs information that is not subject to those laws.
Personal information we collect
Information you provide to us:
- Contact and account information, such as your name, email address, mailing address, telephone number, and account credentials.
- Financial information needed to evaluate, fund, service, and collect a loan or to transact on the Services, such as income and employment information, bank or digital-asset account details and balances (which we may obtain from your financial institutions), and your taxpayer or Social Security number.
- Loan information, such as the loan amount, term, payment history, and the Bitcoin purchased and held in connection with your loan.
- Identification information needed to verify your identity and comply with the law, such as government-issued identification and date of birth.
- Feedback and correspondence, such as information you provide when you contact us.
- Marketing preferences and information about how you engage with our communications.
Information we obtain from third parties:
- Consumer reports and information from consumer reporting agencies, identity-verification providers, bank-data providers, and fraud-prevention services.
- Publicly available blockchain information, such as wallet addresses and transactions associated with your loan or account.
- Information from social media platforms when you interact with our pages, and from other sources such as marketing partners and public records.
Information collected automatically: As you use the Services, we and our service providers may automatically collect device data (such as IP address, device and browser type, and operating system) and online-activity data (such as pages viewed, time spent, and links clicked), using cookies, local storage, web beacons, and similar technologies.
How we use personal information
We use personal information to: provide, operate, secure, and improve the Services; verify your identity and comply with "know your customer," anti-money-laundering, sanctions, and other legal and regulatory obligations; evaluate your loan application, including assessing your creditworthiness and ability to repay; originate, fund, service, and collect loans and administer your account; process payments and digital-asset transfers; communicate with you about your account, transactions, and required disclosures; provide customer support; conduct research and development, including creating de-identified or aggregated data; send marketing communications consistent with your preferences and applicable law; and detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, security incidents, and other harmful or unlawful activity, and to enforce our agreements and exercise or defend legal rights.
We may obtain and use one or more consumer reports about you, on an initial and ongoing basis, for purposes permitted by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. If we deny your application or take other adverse action based in whole or in part on information in a consumer report, we will provide the notices required by the Fair Credit Reporting Act and the Equal Credit Opportunity Act.
How we share personal information
We do not sell your personal information. We may share personal information:
- With service providers that perform functions on our behalf, such as identity verification, credit and bank-data services, custody, payment processing, hosting, analytics, communications, accounting, and legal services, which are permitted to use it only to provide services to us.
- With financial institutions and payment processors as needed to process payments and transfers you authorize.
- With consumer reporting agencies, to which we may furnish information about your account, including your payment history and any default; late or missed payments may be reported and may affect your credit.
- With our affiliates, including entities that fund, service, or hold loans or that act as a financing or securitization vehicle.
- With law enforcement, regulators, and other authorities, and with private parties, where we believe in good faith it is necessary or appropriate to comply with the law, respond to legal process, or protect rights, safety, or property.
- In connection with a business transaction, such as a financing, merger, acquisition, reorganization, or sale of assets, in which case we will make reasonable efforts to require the recipient to honor this Policy.
- With your consent, or as otherwise permitted by applicable law.
Your choices
Update your information. You may review and update certain account information by logging in or by contacting us.
Marketing. You may opt out of marketing emails by following the unsubscribe instructions in the message. You may continue to receive non-marketing, service-related communications.
Cookies and online tracking. Most browsers let you remove or reject cookies through their settings, and you can use privacy-focused browsers or plug-ins to limit tracking. If we use a third-party analytics provider, you may be able to opt out through that provider's tools. Because these controls are specific to each browser and device, you will need to apply them on each one you use.
Do Not Track. Some browsers can send "Do Not Track" signals. We do not currently respond to these signals. Because we do not sell your personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, no separate opt-out of "sale" or "sharing" is required; if that changes, we will update this Policy and provide any required opt-out.
Privacy rights requests. Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights to request access to, a copy of, correction of, or deletion of certain personal information, and to be free from discrimination for exercising those rights. These rights generally do not apply to information we collect about applicants for or holders of a loan, because that information is subject to the GLBA or CalFIPA. To make a request, contact us at privacy@pyrusfinancial.com. We will take steps to verify your identity before responding, and an authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf where the law allows. We may decline a request as permitted by applicable law, and if we do, we will explain why.
Other sites and services
The Services may link to websites and services operated by third parties. We do not control and are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to review their policies before using them.
Security
We maintain administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No security measures are completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information. You play an important role by safeguarding your credentials and notifying us promptly of any suspected unauthorized access.
Children
The Services are not directed to, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, children under 13 years of age. If we learn that we have collected such information without the consent required by law, we will delete it.
Changes to this Policy
We may modify this Policy at any time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by updating the effective date and posting the updated Policy on our website. Your continued use of the Services after the changes take effect indicates your acceptance of the updated Policy.
How to contact us
Please direct any questions, requests, or complaints about this Policy or our privacy practices to privacy@pyrusfinancial.com, or by mail to Pyrus Financial Inc., PO Box 25276, Los Angeles, CA 90025.
